We were late in the first discussion of our class in the church history yet I am thankful to God that my teacher and my classmates are very flexible in waiting for us to catch to them, that they even discussed again the topic they tackled when we were gone for two sessions in this class.
Before i really had no idea about church history but in learning and discovering the people and the events before in the churches that were in right now  it helps us especially me to know what really is our origin. Personally  in the past i was thinking before that where does my faith comes from ( Jesus Christ) and where did it started ( when i receive Jesus Christ) , and why there is a building that all same faith goes and worship together.
In the discussions there were many reason why we need  to study church history. I realize while listening that i really need to be attentive and to learn more about it so that in the near future ministry i can share about what i learned. first reason is that to demonstrate the truth of Christianity, then to understand where we came from, to produce perspective on the study of Scripture.
I am not good in memorizing and even remembering names and dates but my teacher said we need to because there are many people in the past that are important who influenced what we believe on today.
And as the recipient of God's love i am grateful that God preserves his church, because in the church, it became my second home where I can share my faith and express my worship to God through singing praises and in the church it helps me to grow more in knowing God through listening to the sermons by our pastor.
I hope and pray that I will become more interested in this subject because honestly I don't like dates but with the help of God, I can do it.
The second topic that we tackled from the class opened up my mind that there were also cultist group who also believe in many other gods. But the bad thing on their situation before was that there were many false teacher who poisoned the minds of the people around them and the worst thing was that they were very troublemakers, they even fought to Christian who won't recant their beliefs.
Some cult groups have the same belief just like the Christians. They believe on the pre-existing of Jesus Christ, divinity of Christ, humanity of Christ, trinity, baptism as purification, Lord's supper but they did not they distorted the every true meaning of it. Especially on Christ and also the salvation, they add and deduct meanings out of these beliefs.
The Gnostic group believe that the body is bad but the spirit is good. But I believe that body and Spirit are connected, that if one sinned all of will be affected - your mind, body and spirit also sinned.
